The DVSA annual MOT tester assessment is considered an ‘open-book’ exam. An open-book exam allows you to refer back to any notes or other course materials while taking the exam. Open-book exams are designed to test your ability to analyse, evaluate or synthesise knowledge, rather than your ability to recall facts or information.

During your attempt at the annual assessment, you can have access to any materials you feel would be beneficial in passing the exam.
