QUICK ANSWER
Yes
Much like the annual training requirement for dual-class MOT testers, any MOT tester licenced to conduct class 1&2 (Group A) and class 4&7 (Group B) vehicle MOTs must complete an annual assessment for each class group. This means that if a tester is dual-class, they must complete and pass 2 annual assessments each year, one for each vehicle class group.
Failing to complete and/or successfully record the results of one of the annual assessments will only lead to suspension of that particular class group. For example, if a tester passes their class 4&7 exam but fails to pass an exam for classes 1&2, on 1st April the tester will be suspended from being able to complete any more class 1&2 MOTs but will be able to continue with testing class 4&7 MOTs.
