I’ve been suspended for not completing an annual assessment. What now?

Understanding the process following suspension for not passing an annual assessment.
When a tester gets suspended on 1st April for not having a record of an annual assessment in their MOT Testing Service (MTS) profile, there are a few things the tester needs to do in order to be able to return to testing. These are:
  • *Submit a basic DBS check.
  • Complete the 3 hours of annual training for the new training year.
  • Complete and pass the annual assessment for the new training year.
  • Book and successfully complete a DVSA MOT demonstration test.
Only once these 4 requirements have been met will the DVSA grant the tester the ability to conduct MOTs again.

*Your DBS certificate must be dated no more than 3 months before the date of your demonstration test (MOT Testing Guide Section E2).
