Help Centre MOT Compliance Equipment & Calibrations Access all calibration documents for a VE

My VE has requested my calibration certificates. How do I access these from my MOT Juice account?

Use the Vehicle Examiner Visit process to download your equipment calibration certificates in one place
During a DVSA site visit, a Vehicle Examiner (VE) may ask to see calibration certificates for your MOT equipment. The MOT Testing Guide says calibration records must be readily retrievable, kept for at least 2 years, and they may be stored digitally or as hard copies.

MOT Juice makes this easier by giving you a guided Vehicle Examiner Visit process, including a report download for your equipment calibration certificates. This allows you to download the documents as a ZIP folder, so you can view them on-screen or print them if the VE wants paper copies. The official DVSA guidance allows calibration records to be retained digitally or as a hardcopy.
How to download all calibration documents
Step 1: Log in to your MOT Juice account
Go to the MOT Juice website and sign in using your account details.

Step 2: Start the Vehicle Examiner Visit process
Once you are logged in, use the left-hand menu and click Vehicle Examiner Visit. A prompt will appear asking whether there is a VE on site or whether you want to use the feature in test mode. To continue with a real site visit:
  • Select There is a VE on site
  • Click Continue to Vehicle Examiner Process
Step 3: Confirm your garage details
You will then be taken into the DVSA VE Panic Process. On the Garage Details step:
  • Select the correct Garage
  • Check the VTS ID
Once these details are correct, click Next.

Step 4: Notify staff if needed
The next step is Notify Staff. Here you can choose whether to:
  • Notify all staff members by SMS
  • Notify all staff members by Email
If you do not want to send notifications, you can use Skip this step and continue.

Step 5: Record the VE’s identification details
On the ID Card step, you can enter the VE’s details, including:
  • VE Name
  • VE Mobile Number
  • VE Email Address
This helps you keep a record of who attended the site visit and gives you contact details if you need to follow up afterwards. Once entered, click Next.

Step 6: Continue through the next stage
You will then move on to the next step in the process before reaching Reports. Continue through the process until you arrive at the Reports screen.

Step 7: Download your calibration certificates
On the Reports screen, you will see a list of downloadable report options, including:
  • Site Audit Report
  • DVSA Training & CPD Report
  • Exam Certificates
  • Equipment Calibration Certificates
  • QC Check Log
To get your calibration records, click Download Equipment Calibration Certificates.

Step 8: Open the ZIP folder
Your calibration documents will download as a ZIP folder. From there, you can:
  • Open the ZIP folder on your device
  • Extract the files
  • View each certificate individually
  • Print the documents if the VE asks for hard copies
Why this is useful
Using the Vehicle Examiner Visit process helps you gather the documents a VE may ask for from one place, without having to search through separate equipment records. It also means you can quickly produce your calibration documents in either digital or printed format during the visit. Calibration records must be readily retrievable, and the official guidance allows them to be stored either digitally or as hard copies.
Helpful tip
To make sure this download is useful when you need it, keep your equipment calibration certificates uploaded and up to date in your MOT Juice account.

Important: If you don't upload your calibration documents regularly, you risk not being able to provide DVSA VE's with the required documentation upon request which may lead to points and sanctions being issued at the end of a DVSA site visit.
